The Registration of Mangrove REpLaNT 2008

Semarang, Central Java. In 18 - 20 July 2008, KeSEMaT, again, will conduct its yearly event known as Mangrove REpLaNT (MR) 2008: Training, Campaigning and Replanting Mangrove. It has aim to save coastal of Teluk Awur Jepara from abrasion and also educate community about the importance of mangrove for their life.

This year, MR will be conducting in Teluk Awur Jepara at three sites of MR 2005, 2006 and 2007, respectively, to complete mangrove species. There are many activities in MR 2008 such as:

1. National Mangrove Seminar (NMS)

NMS has theme Forest For Rent. It will be attended by speakers form many institutions (1) Department of Forestry - Jakarta, (2) Wetlands International Indonesia Programme (WI-IP), (3) Expert of Law from Diponegoro University - Semarang, (4) The Local Government of Jepara - Jepara, (5) Institute for Study and Development of Mangrove (LPP Mangrove) - Jakarta, (6) Mangrove Expert of KeSEMaT.  

2. Training, Campaign and Replanting Mangrove (TCRM)

There are many activities of TCRM such as (1) Field Trip to The Little Mangrove Forest of KeSEMaT (Arboretum), (2) The Introduction of Mangrove Species by Expert of KeSEMaT, (3) Field Trip to The Mangrove Nursery (Arboretum) of KeSEMaT, (4) Field Trip and Coastal Clean Up of Teluk Awur, (5) Looking for Sunset and Sunset Photo Section in Arboretum of KeSEMaT, (6) Practicing Mangrove Culinary by LPP Mangrove, (7) Replanting Mangrove in Three Site, (8) Fun Game Called Puzzle of Mangrove in Mangrove Forest, (9) Adventuring in Mangrove Forest, (10) Mud War, (11) Watching Mangrove Movie Documentary.

Facilities

MR 2008 is only for 100 participants. Each participant will get many facilities such as accommodation Semarang-Jepara, consumption, snack, T-shirt, seminar kit, certificate and door prize.

We invite you to come and join on this conservation event. If you interest, please apply. It is opened now from 16 June until 5 July 2007. Charge Rp. 95.000,- (9,5 US$). You can get the application in KeSEMaT Office Semarang and Campus of Marine Science - UNDIP Semarang.
